A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
